environmental mapping solutions, llc, 2009

If you are considering a land purchase,

· You need to find out if environmental regulations will hinder your plans

· You will need to determine the presence and extent of wetlands or listed species that could prevent you from realizing your project

then a site assessment encompassing wetland due diligence is probably right for you…

In all cases, a scientist will evaluate pertinent data to estimate the presence and extent of State and federally regulated wetlands, and natural habitats capable of supporting listed species.  Data sources may include National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) Maps, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Topographical Quads, National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Soil Surveys, and recent and historical aerial photography.

Desktop Parcel Review

The findings of our investigation will be presented in a letter-type report, including a hand-drawn map showing estimates of wetland coverage. For an additional fee, we will prepare full-color Geographic Information Systems (GIS) maps overlain on recent aerial photography, showing the property boundary, acreage estimates of wetland coverage, plus NWI and NRCS hydric soils extents.

Preliminary Site Assessment

Our staff will conduct all of the data research described in the Desktop Parcel Review.  A scientist will then visit the subject property and conduct limited ground-truthing.  The findings will be presented in a detailed report format.  As with a Desktop Review, you may request either a hand-drawn map, or full-color GIS maps.

On-Site Consultation with Client (Walk and Talk)

A scientist will meet on-site with the client to evaluate site conditions, including the extent of State and federally regulated wetlands, and natural habitats capable of supporting listed species.  We will then discuss permitting and mitigation options for the conceptual project.  This option is particularly useful for potential purchasers of smaller parcels, or those seeking to construct a single-family residence.
