Wetland Delineation

On-site wetlands will be delineated in accordance with the methodologies set in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and Chapter 62-340, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), Delineation of the Landward Extent of Wetlands and Surface Waters. Scientists will mark the wetland line in the field with surveyor’s flagging tape, noting flag numbering sequences.  During the site visit, we will also note any observed listed species.  A hand-drawn “flagging key map” will be provided to the client and/or client’s surveyor once the delineation is complete.

Wetland Delineation with Global Positioning System (GPS) Recording

In addition to the delineation described above, each wetland point will be recorded with a sub-meter Global Positioning System (GPS). During the site visit, we will also note any observed listed species.  The GPS points will be appropriately post-processed and merged into Geographic Information System (GIS) software to create polygons of on-site wetland acreages overlain on recent aerial photographs.
